Tudefitness.com

Have you been over to Tudefitness.com lately? I've made some major changes, including changing the site to a Wordpress site to make it easier to do some quick updates and also allow you to make comments and ask questions. I'm going to be talking a lot about bodyweight exercises for those of you who are interested. That will include exercises such as pull ups, exercise ball exercises, push ups and more. Of course the dumbbells exercises will be a feature as well as running for aerobics. Let me know what you think and if there are other areas you would like to see covered.

Metabolic Resistance Training

What the heck is this new style of workout that fitness experts are calling "Metabolic Resistance Training"? Metabolic Resistance Training Basically you are going to replace cardio and running intervals with total body, multi-muscle circuits. Long. slow running, as you most likely know, is going by the wayside as high intensity intervals are taking over. Metabolic Resistance Training involves total body workouts but done in a different manner. It's fat burning at its best.

Still Pushing Limits

Exercise has paid huge dividends for me. I'm now 62 but in no way do I look or feel that age. I've exercised regularly for as long as I can remember and the really big pay off is I'm able to keep up with my grandson. He always says he is glad I'm not like other grandpas. That's not to brag. It's to show you why you should be exercising regularly and taking care of your body. Look at the athletes nowadays and how long they are continuing in their profession. Keeping in shape allows you to extend your youth. I'm pushing the limits. I've added HIIT to my workouts and you can read more about that at the link to my exercise site. But basically it is high intensity interval training. It's a killer but it also cuts the workout time. More effective workouts in a shorter time. Can't beat that. Gives us more time for fishing

Pull ups & Chin ups

Without a doubt adding pull ups and chin ups to your workout routine will help build up your muscles and your strength. The problem is a lot of people have trouble doing them. I mean you can have someone assist you or you can use a chair as a support to get started. You can do Australian pull ups, which is a very good alternative. Basically you are laying under a low bar and pulling yourself up. You can put a bar across 2 sturdy chairs to accomplish this. But here's a good way to get your pullups in and it works. I have a perfect pullup bar upstairs on one of our doors. When I go up to the restroom or to get something from the bedroom, I do as many chin ups as possible on my way down. 1 set only. Now that adds up to 6 - 8 sets on the day I do these and yet it takes up minimal time and my body recoups enough to hit a good number each time. Let me tell you something. You will know at the end of the day that you had a good workout.

Wii Fit Plus Balance Board

The Wii Fit Plus balance board has an uncanny knack for knowing when you are doing some of the exercises properly. It will tell me when I am shaky doing the plank, for instance. When doing the yoga exercises there is a circle on the screen which you try to stay in while you are performing the stances. If you go out of that circle you are reminded that your balance needs worked on. Once you nail that spot you are feeling the exercise where you are supposed to and it brings results. The hulu hoop kind of throws me at times. I feel like I'm doing it correctly but it gives me a low score and the hoop starts to slowly drop to the ground. It gets frustrating but, at the same time, i get a good aerobic workout and good workout on the abs while I keep trying again to get it right. I definitely think you will get a lot of benefit out of the Wii Fit Plus and the balance board. The additional games are fun and challenging and also help you get some exercise without realizing it.

I have expert status there so you might also find some other articles I've written that would interest you. In addition there are articles by many other writers that you might enjoy. I have used the running portion of Wii Fit for some time now but just got the balance board and I'm very impressed with this. Check out the article, 7 Reasons I Recommend the Wii Fit Plus if you want to see why.

Wii Fit Plus

I was using the Wii Fit disk only for running and never had the board. I just got it this past week with the new Wii Fit Plus disk and let me tell you, I'm loving it.

Read more about my experience at Exercise Digest and I'll be getting into more details as I continue to test it but I have to tell you this, in my estimation, has a lot of exercises and games to help you get in shape.

No, it's not for someone trying to body build or run a marathon but if you want to get into shape and have fun doing it, it is well worth it. The run down I have on my site right now is just about this week's findings, but I plan to expand on it with separate pages there on all the different areas offered.

I firmly believe anything that can get people off their butts and get them started exercising is a good thing. I know many so called "exercise gurus" knock it, but I think it has it's place in the exercise arena. And Amazon has some seriously good prices with free shipping right now. That's where I got mine and save money instead of buying it locally.
